Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s Day is just around the corner. If you are like me, I struggle shopping for my husband. So many of the things my husband would want are things I can’t buy for him... he needs to pick out for himself.... golf clubs!

Anyhow, I have put together a small list of ideas for the dad in your life. Lots of price ranges and variety of interests. With Father’s Day being in June, I always tend for outdoor themed items. The daddy at our house is into golf and bbq... among other things. So most of my choices are those two heavy.

Alma mater or favorite team polo.  My husband is a K-State grad and Wildcat clothes are always a hit! No matter whether it’s a polo, tee shirt, athletic shorts or sweatshirt, favorite team apparel is always a winner.

I have been wanting to get a soft sided high end cooler for my husband. I’ve looked into the Yeti brand, but upon asking around I heard that it may not be the best of the best. I’ve heard that the Rtic brand is so good and much less expensive.  When you live in the South and do anything outside a high quality cooler is a must!

Magnetic bbq lights. These are genius. Don’t tell my husband, I ordered a set of these for him. We use our bbq grill and smoker a lot! I think he’s really going to enjoy these lights!

Golf items. So my husband is a big golfer. It’s sometimes hard to gift him golf related things because clubs are so specific and other golf items need to be tested or tried before you make the investment. Clothes are pretty safe, especially in men’s sizes... they typically true to size. The other things I’ve put on the list are a practice net and an outdoor game... cornhole meets putting. Love it!

Sunglasses are a risky gift, but if he has a favorite high quality brand he loves... then it’s safer. My husband has been wearing Maui Jim’s for years. They are his favorite. We like them because this particular style is pretty versatile. He can wear them dressed up for work or dressed down watching a ball game or playing golf. They are too sporty.

This basting brush set is really clever. The baster is the lid. So it’s easy to leave outside without it getting critters inside. Dishwasher safe. I got one of these for my hubs for Christmas this past year.

Whatever your budget, do something to celebrate the dad in your life.  Whether that be your husband, your kids dad, your favorite uncle, your own dad!  Celebrate them.  Let them know how much they mean to you and how your life would be less without them.  The truth of the matter, whoever you are and whoever you celebrate this coming weekend....Love them. Appreciate them. Value them.

Monday Must Have - - - Closet Clothing Dividers for Kids

Mom's Take back your morning!!!! If you are like me and have multiple school age children, mornings can be stressful and time consuming.  The fight about clothes and hurrying to get dressed in the morning can be endless and infuriating.  I envy those of you whose children wear uniforms to school.  But regardless of if they wear everyday clothes or uniforms this method is priceless. This also allows momma to see if everything they need for the week is clean and ready.  I also hang practice clothes or jersey's with the day of the week of the game etc. I started this when my oldest was in preschool.  It allows us organization and frees our mornings up.  When I started doing this, I used a hanging sweater organizer.  This was a good fit for the closet at the time and it worked for our space.  Now, my oldest two children share a room and closet, so this method works better for us. I ordered colorful set of clothing organizers from Amazon . ...

Boundaries - - - Time for Childhood

Boundaries is a tricky subject matter. I think some people have a natural propensity for strong boundaries in their lives and some people have to work harder to establish them. When I say boundaries, I am specifically talking about ones ability to establish specific limits and guidelines for certain relationships and activities. I have a natural ability for well established boundaries. Many times friends and acquaintances have come to me seeking advice & recommendation on improving this area. I definitely don't say this to toot my own horn, but to share with you what I know about my successes and areas I still need to work on. One of the reasons boundary discussion can be complicated is that there are so many facets; emotional boundaries, physical boundaries, relationships boundaries & time boundaries... just to name a few. I could write an entire blog post on each facet of boundaries. And maybe I will get to all the points eventually. When you are a momma you ...

Elementary School - - Must Haves

Well, it’s that time again. It’s about to be back to school. This year looks different, but regardless of what your school is doing this fall there are things you are going to need this fall. If your house is like mine, school supplies and craft supplies are running low.  Between finishing school at home and quarantine... we are making due. Here in GA, we are starting back to school as normally as can be anticipated. Masks included, if possible. My elementary age kiddo is pretty good on clothes, but definitely needs somethings to start the year. These are a few things that I have bought or will be buying in addition to the required school supplies. First, as a third grader... she needed a bigger backpack. Lands End is my very favorite place to order back packs and lunch bags! They are wonderfully made and hold up so well. My kids love the prints. The website allows you to filter the size of the backpack based on height. For me, this makes shopping for a backpack SO much easi...
