Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is almost here. If you are like me, when my hubs and kids ask if there’s anything I want... I can never think of anything. So I’ve compiled an inspiration list. Most mommas can find one thing on the list that they love and could really use!

Let me preface this list by saying this. My favorite gifts for me are pampering ‘me-time’ things. A pedicure or facial.... a blow-out or girls night. These are things I don’t always have time for or childcare. So, to me they are a two fold gift...time & activity.

On this list I have things all over the price range map. A robotic vacuum to statement earrings from Amazon. Really, something for every price range!

Wine of the month club! Last year for my birthday, my husband got this for me. I enjoyed it so much. It was a great way to try wines I wouldn’t ordinarily buy. In the gift he gave me, I got a bottle of white and red every month for 6 months. I looked forward to the delivery every month. Inside the box was information on each wine as well as a pairings recipe card. I am definitely not an expert on wine, but really enjoyed trying new things and expanding my tastes.

We do a good bit of entertaining, and I also love getting new and functional serving wear.  The piece highlighted is from the Hearth & Hand collection at Target and has a very friendly price point. It would be perfect for different kinds of dips, olives & pickles or nuts and snack mix.

Shark Robotic vacuum. I became familiar with this at my moms house last month. Here works great. What a treat to pick things up start the vacuum and then move on to the next chore. I would love to have one. We have prominent thresholds in our house, so I’m not sure it would work... but a busy mom can dream!

Simple champagne flutes. I never had a need for these until recently. When we moved into this neighborhood all my friends drink Prosecco. So of course I had to buy some to have on hand when we are hosting get togethers. This four pack from Target are so perfect. They are stemless and have good thickness and weight to them, not flimsy at all. That’s a must have in my book. The price point is phenomenal. Pair with a nice bottle of Prosecco and mom will feel like a Queen!

Workout gear. As far as I’m concerned, momma can never have too many leggings. I love the light springy colors of these. I’d love to branch out away from my typical dark gray and black. These outfits are both from old navy. I love the quality of their Active line. The price point is perfect too. I have several of their pieces and can’t recommend them enough!

Casual athleisure shoes. If you are a busy mom like me, the outfits above are not just for yoga class! So a cute pair of shoes to run errands and haul kids around is a must. I love the casual look of these new balance. They would also pair great with jeans or shorts!

Windowsill Herb Garden. I love this for a kitchen window. What a perfect gift for a momma with a green thumb or someone who loves to cook with fresh ingredients. How I wish I had a window suitable for this amazing little treasure. This also screams for a grandma or nana gift! I know both my mother in law on mom would love this!

If the mama in your life doesn’t have a green thumb, then maybe this faux plant from target is the ticket. This would be a great addition to any bathroom or hallway that needs a little pick me up.

Straw Clutch. OMG! How cute is this? Stick a Starbucks gift card inside, and I guarantee mom will be thrilled.  This clutch is so cute and perfect for summer. It will literally match everything!

Feather Statement Earrings. I found these beauties on Amazon. There are a bunch of different colors. Perfect for any of your summer outfits. These would be perfect for every event from brunch to vacation!

Tory Burch Miller Sandals. I have been crushing on these forever... but I haven’t done it. I don’t think these need much in the way of explanation, but they are definitely an everyday wear kinda of piece. Beach to Brunch. Dance recitals to dinner date.

I hope this inspired you to make the momma in your life feel special this next week and tell her you love her everyday.  If you are the momma...copy and past and send this post to your person to give them hints on what you might want to me spoiled with.  I'll be high lighting a bunch of these items on my IG stories next week leading up to Mother's Day!

Motherhood

Motherhood has the unique ability to expose our deepest weaknesses as well as highlight personal substance you never knew was there. In the trenches of the days of no sleep, spit up covered shirts and endless dirty diapers you discover the deepest part of who you are. One thing I have learned in the last almost 10 years of motherhood, is that knowing who I am is vital to my success. As Americans, I see great fear in understanding one’s own weaknesses. I know the opposite to be true. I see strength in your own full self discovery. We see women that look a certain way and are wearing certain things and we think that we have to imitate that to establish our identity. I see women everyday who are stretched to the brink, trying to do it all. As mothers, it’s important to relay to our children that weaknesses are a part of who we are, we are not defined by those rather we are defined by our strengths. When we truly know who we are, we can feel more comfortable making choices t...

Monday Must Have - - - Closet Clothing Dividers for Kids

Mom's Take back your morning!!!! If you are like me and have multiple school age children, mornings can be stressful and time consuming.  The fight about clothes and hurrying to get dressed in the morning can be endless and infuriating.  I envy those of you whose children wear uniforms to school.  But regardless of if they wear everyday clothes or uniforms this method is priceless. This also allows momma to see if everything they need for the week is clean and ready.  I also hang practice clothes or jersey's with the day of the week of the game etc. I started this when my oldest was in preschool.  It allows us organization and frees our mornings up.  When I started doing this, I used a hanging sweater organizer.  This was a good fit for the closet at the time and it worked for our space.  Now, my oldest two children share a room and closet, so this method works better for us. I ordered colorful set of clothing organizers from Amazon . ...

Valentines Snack Mix

This snack mix is so easy & versatile for any holiday or activity. This is a super kid pleaser. The variety I made is nut free, there is a peanut allergy in my daughters class.  I started with popcorn & pretzels as my base. I popped my popcorn on the stovetop, you could just as easily use pre-bagged popcorn (Smartpop) or microwave popcorn.  I used 8 cups of popcorn and 3 cups of pretzels. Mix in a large bowl. Next, melt your vanilla coating chocolate. Follow the melting instructions on the package.  I dyed mine pink for the occasion.  Once the coating candy is melted and the right color, pour it over your mix. Stir constantly until is all incorporated. Spread out on parchment or wax paper. I used valentines sprinkles next... this is optional... but too cute to pass up! Next, I did the chocolate covered pretzels. I used the remainder of the bag of pretzels.  Same process as before, but using chocolate. Sometimes this is referred t...
